Webflow Exclusive - The Benefits of Webflow & What This Means for Your Business

When we started ROCSHIP, we knew that we wanted to provide high-caliber products & services. The only way we could deliver on this goal was to specialize and focus in on a few specific services, so that we could become incredibly efficient and skilled.

After considering the array of platforms available, we chose Webflow and haven’t looked back ever since.

Webflow, WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and the Nine Realms

If you know much about building a website, you’ll know that web platforms like WordPress, SquareSpace, Wix, and others have significantly lowered the barrier of entry to create and exist on the web (Woohoo!). Coding websites from scratch or within a framework is rarely an efficient or practical way to build a website, especially a forward-facing, marketing, or e-commerce website.

Each of these platforms has its own pros and cons. Sometimes the platform makes it too easy to use in exchange for bloated code, which produces slow websites; others are more closed-source vs. open-source. I’m not going into a deep-dive comparison; we’ll save that for another day, but today I’m going to lay out the specifics of Webflow and why we chose this amazing platform to be the tool we use to provide websites on a daily basis.

Benefits of Webflow (For You… and Us)

Webflow comes with A LOT of features baked in, and other benefits are how they make it easy to obtain these features.

Here’s an extensive list of our favorite features about Webflow:

Speed

Web page loading times are crucial. The percentage of drop-off rates when a page takes too long to load is astonishing. We shoot for sub 3s load times on all our websites (Desktop AND mobile) Webflow makes this more possible to achieve.

Mobile-Friendly

Many of the websites we manage are experiencing 80%+ of their traffic coming from mobile. If a website is not optimized for the mobile viewing experience, it is probably missing out on a vast majority of potential customers.

Forward-Facing Editor

Have you ever wanted to make a quick update to your website, like changing an image or updating some text, and it was so confusing or difficult to do that you had to reach out to your developer just to make a simple update? Webflow fixes that. Their world-class website editor makes quick edits to your website easier than ever. Security

I won’t get too in the weeds on this; you can check out Webflow’s complete security doc if you’d like to learn more. But here are two things I will leave you with: first, all Webflow websites come with built SSL encryption (WHAT?!), and second, they are SOC 2 Type 2 certified.

Hosting

Webflow’s hosting is set up with one click. They use lightning-fast, powerful AWS hosting that is built to manage and scale. They also service a national and global CDN (content delivery network) via Fastly that produces even faster delivery times.

Structure

Webflow allows developers to build beautiful, high-functioning websites without bloatware and plugins offered on other platforms. Expect websites to be written in clean, semantic code and run smoothly.

Functionality

If you need a little more power and functionality than is normally provided on a standard marketing website, Webflow can probably suit your needs perfectly. Whether it’s memberships, hidden content, e-commerce, databases, dynamic content, and more - Webflow is a functional powerhouse.

Closed-Source

When I say “closed-source,” I am only referring to the plugin marketplace. When it comes to design & functionality - Webflow is nearly limitless. The benefits of a closed-source product are that your website won’t be weighed down by bloated code and plugin interference. Everything will work perfectly together.

Backups

In the unlikely chance that something does go wrong or a mistake is made on the website causing a major issue, Webflow websites are automatically updated daily.

Accessible

Webflow does a great job with prioritizing accessibility on the web, and the features surrounding this are increasing quickly. Having an accessible website means that people who use screen readers or have disabilities can easily navigate and use your website.

SEO

Having a great website is one thing, but getting visitors to show up is another. Webflow helps with SEO through various features and helps make using SEO best practices possible.

Expansive

Webflow is incredibly scalable. Want to start with a one-pager and grow it into a powerhouse of a website? Do it. Webflow has scalability built right into its core. Your website can grow as your business or organization grows.
